Utrecht– November 26, 2010.

Dutch Independent Game Studio Vlambeer has released the Mac OS X version of its freeware debut title, Super Crate Box. The original PC version of the game was released just over a month ago and has enjoyed positive reactions since, with players collecting over 10,000,000 crates worldwide.

“We’re really excited as this is our first OS X release, so we’re really counting on the feedback of the community to be able to make improvements where needed. The most important thing was to enable a larger audience to play the game and the release definitely does that.”

Minecraft creator Notch remarked that the game was‘simple but brilliant’ and Team Meat of Super Meat Boy mentioned the game to be‘awesome’. Rock, Paper, Shotgun said that the game is like“condensed milk, only with fun instead of milk”.

Super Crate Box is available for free at www.supercratebox.com now.

Vlambeer is a new Dutch Indie game studio consisting out of game design students Rami Ismail and Jan Willem Nijman, who together decided to take a plunge and go and start a studio instead of taking classes. Their recent titles include Super Crate Box and Radical Fishing.
