Volkswagen’s new Touareg is a thrill - even virtually on the iPhone

Hamburg, Germany, 11 May 2010 - Every iPhone™ and iPod™ touch user can now take the new Volkswagen Touareg for a virtual test drive. The Volkswagen Touareg Challenge can be downloaded worldwide free from the App Store.

The Touareg V6 TDI BlueMotion Technology and the Touareg Hybrid are available to choose from. From ocean drive to off-road adventure: experience the versatility of the new Touareg and put it to the test on six distinct on and off-road courses. In typical rally fashion, the courses must be mastered for the best time in a variety of weather and road conditions. Those who choose the Touareg Hybrid also win additional points for efficient driving. Successfully completed courses automatically unlock more paint jobs and new rims in the car configurator.

The realistic driving physics, dynamic lighting, and custom controls add to the driving fun. Fitting background music enhances the virtual driving fun. Players can enjoy three bands from the Volkswagen Sound Foundation: Tonbandgerät, jona:S und Jupiter Jones.

So that your test drive is more than just virtual, the integrated search function will guide you directly to a nearby Volkswagen dealer. Highscores in the virtual Touareg can be uploaded via Facebook, Twitter, or e-mail buttons for players to contend in international competition.
