Want to chat about Call of Duty without looking at photos of cats? Then join the conversation at Pixwoo as it launches mobile application

Monday, 1 st July 2013:  Social media site Pixwoo has its eyes set firmly on the UK following the launch of its iOS and Android clients.

Pixwoo’s aim is simple: to offer games players the world over a free platform upon which they can discuss games and their creators, without the constant begging for Cityville credits or seeing black and white pictures of what people have had for lunch.

The network enjoyed a successful soft launch last year, but is now ramping up activity as it seeks to build an audience of games players eager to socialise and share.

Pixwoo allows players to construct their own personal network of friends, colleagues and industry legends. New friends can be discovered through shared interests in specific games, platforms or even genres – from casual to hardcore, from retro to next-gen, every aspect of gaming is covered.

The mobile App – available now from iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/pixwoo/id649788356?mt=8 and Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pixwoo boasts identical functionality to the browser-based network, allowing users to converse and discover wherever their phone is.

“Pixwoo has been designed very much as a complementary social network – one which opens up the world of gaming to the entire world,” says Pascal Vielhescaze, Founder, Pixwoo. “By providing a place for users to socialise in and around the world of gaming, we’re able to provide a warm and welcoming community with passion and enthusiasm for the best entertainment medium in the world – without worrying about alienating anyone.

“At the moment, players can subscribe to videos on one network, follow pages on another and maybe interact with others on a forum. Our aim is to bring those communities under one roof, offering the best place on the internet to interact with games. Publishers and developers can talk directly to their audiences. Journalists can cross-promote their news stories, offering a larger audience. And consumers can discover so much more about their favourite pastime, discussing, discovering and sharing their passion.”

“Users can sign up with an email address or by using their Facebook or Twitter credentials. Once in, they will find the world of gaming at their fingertips. Following our soft launch last year, we’re delighted to welcome new Pixwooers from France and the UK – and we’re excited about seeing the community grow.”

Users can join Pixwoo now from their mobiles, or at www.pixwoo.com
