Who Gives Employees The Chance To Win A NEW CAR For Being Awesome? SkyJoy!

Miami (August 8, 2013) SkyJoy Interactive, an emerging Miami-based video game developer focused on casual and social games in the mobile market, is giving one hard working employee a car!  Earning this VIP status via gamification is all part of development for their first title, starring the charming red panda Super Kid Cannon.  Launching this fall on both iOS and Android mobile devices, Super Kid Cannon is the first game of its kind: a vertical launcher!  SkyJoy takes a different approach in motivating their employees: give them choice, instead of giving them non-stop work.

Every two weeks, employees are challenged with a new sprint: a list of tasks, duties, milestones, and other targets to hit by the end of the next Friday.  These assignments are given to teams, who work out themselves how to tackle the goals within the given time.  During each sprint, the teams and individuals at SkyJoy earns points by working scheduled hours, completing items on the list.

Skyjoy’s mission is to provide a healthy AND competitive work environment.  The company encourages employees to strive for a great work/life balance and SkyJoy even offers healthy nutrition including fresh snacks and juices for its employees.  This mission allows the company to get the most out of its employees while also allowing everyone to have happy and healthful lives.

At the end of each two week period, the current sprint winner is rewarded with a swanky trophy, recognition on the SkyJoy Facebook and Instagram pages, and to top it all off they also receive a gift card prize.  Current sprint trophy holders come from all over the development team, and include programmers, artists, and more!  Skyjoy’s “game within a game” isn’t a new concept but remains a fun way to motivate employees and is just one fun part of this up-and-coming studio.

“I think what makes me the happiest is that every sprint has had a different winner,” said Abboudi Taher, Founder and President of SkyJoy Interactive.  “Our whole team is passionate about making Super Kid Cannon an amazing game, and I can’t wait to see who the grand prize winner is and what car they’ll choose.”

Super Kid Cannon features fast-paced vertical-scrolling action along with puzzles and strategic thinking to progress through levels.  The game can easily be played by everyone but incorporates features and extras designed to offer a challenge to hardcore gamers.  Super Kid Cannon will include a variety of memorable characters, each one with their own unique personality and traits.  Social integrations such as comparing ratings, scores and checking a friend’s progress in the game will also be available.
