LOS ANGELES – May 15, 2012 – Wonacott Communications (Wonacott), a full-service independent public relations and integrated communications agency, has appointed Mark Van Lommel as account director to its award-winning interactive entertainment and technology team. Mark brings to Wonacott nearly 10 years of PR experience in the video games and home entertainment industries. In his new role, he will provide senior-level account management and program development to current and new games-related clients, as well as support new business opportunities for the agency.

Mark joins Wonacott from Nexon America, where he managed product public relations for the publisher’s diverse portfolio of free-to-play PC, social and mobile games. Prior to moving in-house at Nexon, he spent four years at Edelman, personally leading several high-profile product PR campaigns for the Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE Arcade, including the blockbusters Mass Effect, Gears of War 2 and Halo: Reach. He has also handled PR for THQ, Nintendo of America, Paramount Home Entertainment and RadioShack.
During his career, Mark has developed high-profile campaigns around marquee industry events, including E3, PAX Prime and PAX East, GDC and numerous stand-alone press events.
Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of Southern California.
