(ST. LOUIS, MO) -- Yargis, a new gaming experience with arcade style space shooter action, invites everyone to be part of the final phase and Kickstarter launch of the new game that is both family-friendly and fun.   Developed by St. Louis-based PlazSoft, Yargis is a unique arcade-style space game where players can create their own spaceships and fight in both multi-player and single-player modes. In order to complete and finance the last phase of development for Yargis, Plazsoft will use the crowd funding site called Kickstarter beginning in July. In addition, PlazSoft is hosting a pre-launch event on Friday, July 12, at Webster University,HQ at 11:00 AM to 2 PM.

Behind the idea and development of Yargis is CEO and Founder Jeff Minnis who began thinking about developing a space-themed game since he was 10-years-old.  Now 30, Minnis owns his own company called PlazSoft. Also, in 2012 Minnis was awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year from the Small Business Administration (SBA), in addition to being honored as an outstanding alumni from Webster University.

“We created Yargis because we love unique games, and wanted to see an arcade-style space game in which you can create your own spaceship and fight in both multi-player and single-player modes,” Minnis said.  “the game is packed with hours of fun, including a powerful level editor, so you and your friends can create your own exciting adventures.”

Minnis started developing Yargis in 2011 and now has a small team of employees developing the game. He said it is unique because of its arcade style and the ability to unlock new parts for each ship.  Yargis is the name of the main character in the space ship game. This game was created at the PlazSoft building in Manchester, Missouri.

“Players will love creating and playing their own custom levels, plus Yargis can be played with two players on the same computer, “ Minnis said.  Yargis can be played on a PC, or in the future will be playable on XBOX 360 and mobile phones.

Minnis said he is using crowd sourcing to complete Yargis for a variety of reasons.  “We are using crowd funding because it gives us a unique opportunity to raise funds as well as help us spread the word and connect with our players.  Even the smallest contribution will make a huge difference.”   Minnis said he hopes to raise $10,000 by the end of July.

“Yargis is an exciting family-oriented game developed by myself and a small team.  Now we need the support of our community to make this happen.” Minnis said.
