Enterbrain has this morning published a ‘flash report’ on the Wii launch in Japan, revealing that some 372,000 hardware units were sold over the weekend.
The leading market data specialist - which is the parent company of Famitsu - has also announced that the software tie ratio for the Nintendo console stands at 1.69, with Wii Sports the top selling title in the territory on sales of 176,880 units. Wii Play was just behind, notching up 171,888 units, while Zelda: Twilight Princess took third place on sales of 145,068.
Nintendo also took the fourth position in the debut Wii software listing with WarioWare: Smooth Moves, while Tecmo’s Super Swing Golf was the fifth best-selling title.
A special mention must go to Ubisoft’s Red Steel, which claimed the number eight position in the listing – the only Western-developed title in the first Wii chart.
