Dead Rising tops 1m

Upon its release last August, Dead Rising became the fastest selling Xbox 360 title ever, and Capcom now says the franchise is set to become an on-going series.

It becomes the 41st Capcom game to break the one million barrier.

Dead Rising’s triumph is not only a feather in the cap for the publisher’s drive to harvest new IP, but it also signifies a successful beginning to what Capcom has previously described as its new more international-orientated portfolio.

Earlier this week Capcom’s head of European operations Mark Beaumont told Next Generation that he expects Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, which arrives at UK retail tomorrow, will outsell Dead Rising.
