New IP is being credited for a strong financial performance from SCi, which has seen the publisher enjoy a 40 per cent rise in revenue in the first half of its financial year.
Total revenue came in at GBP70 million for the six months ending December 30th, with free-roaming jungle action title Just Cause being named as the firm’s most successful title. In all, original IP accounted for 50 per cent of the company’s revenue.
Other games receiving special merit include TT Games’ Lego Star Wars, which continues to perform brilliantly despite Activision’s release of a sequel, and DC licence Justice League Heroes.
The publisher also confirmed that a sequel to Just Cause is in development, and that it expects the original title, along with Justice League Heroes, to both reach one million sales by the summer.
Tomb Raider Anniversary and Battlestations: Midway were highlighted as two crucial titles for this year, along with the publisher’s range of casual PC titles.
