Neo Geo titles confirmed for Wii

Nintendo has finally given the official confirmation that games from SNK’s NeoGeo system will be appearing on Wii’s Virtual Console download service – though no date other than ‘soon’ has so far been announced.

The first Neo Geo launched in 1990 and rose to popularity in the East owing to its colourful 2D arcade ports. Several iterations of the console were subsequently released.

The first Neo Geo title to appear on the service will be SNK’s 2D beat ‘em up Fatal Fury, which was first released in 1991. This will then be followed by World Heroes and Art of Fighting.

The Neo Geo titles will be available for 900 points each.
