Riccitiello: Casual saving ‘soft’ PC market

Format would be 'dismal' without Warcraft and The Sims, says EA boss
Electronic Arts boss John Riccitiello has stuck the knife into the state of PC gaming – but backed the casual sector to strengthen the format.
Riccitiello said that the figures suggesting the PC market was slowing didn’t take into account the success of microstransaction and subscription models.
However, he added that without World Of Warcraft and The Sims, the boxed PC market would be “pretty dismal”.
