Titanic director James Cameron says he has seen developer’s adaptation of new film – and it requires 3D glasses
Titantic and Aliens director James Cameron has said that Ubisoft is staying loyal to his forthcoming fully 3D movie Avatar – by creating a game that is visually “in stereo”.
Cameron’s film, which is due for release next year, takes advantage of stereoscopic (3D-capable) projectors in cinemas.
Cameron told Cnet that Ubisoft already has a stereoscopic game up and running using a standard Xbox 360 and 3D glasses:
"Stereo production is the next big thing. We are born seeing in three dimensions,” he said. “Most animals have two eyes and not one. There is a reason I think."
Cameron added that first-person shooters become ‘true first-person experiences’.
"You are in the game," he commented. "This is the ultimate immersive media."
