Lace Mamba Global's latest point-and-click game A New Beginning takes players on a journey to an alternate vision of the future.
In this period, climate change threatens to wipe humanity off the face of the Earth. As part of a team sent to the present from 500 years in the future, gamers must change history and prevent the chain of events that could lead to a global catastrophe.
But far from being an educational climate change title, A New Beginning provides users with a fresh take on point-and-click PC gameplay with its unique design and characters.
The comic-book-style graphics, atmospheric music and engrossing storyline has already netted the game several trophies at the German Developer Awards, including Best Story and Best Soundtrack.
Its hand-drawn style is similar to animated movie thriller A Scanner Darkly and The Animatrix short films.
Lace Mamba Global MD Jason Codd tells MCV: “A New Beginning is the new multiple award-winning point-and-click adventure game by Daedalic Entertainment. The story features two playable characters and a stunning, unique eco-thriller scenario that makes for a classic point-and-click adventure game.”
Players take control of radio operator Fay, who wants to find a peaceful way to solve climate change, and time pilot Salvador who will do anything to save the planet.
Backed by a print campaign in PC games magazines and ads on adventure game sites, A New Beginning will no doubt be a hit with fans of point-and-click games such as the Tales of Monkey Island series.
