Some may deem it a brave move in the current economic climate, but Barbie has launched a new company in her latest game: Jet, Set and Style Inc.
And players have been hired as the firm’s new fashionista.
Travelling worldwide fashion hotspots including Paris, Tokyo and Rio De Janiero, consumers will have to doll up clients and learn style tips from Barbie. Since the 52-year-old looks less than half her age, the plastic icon is something of an expert on the subject.
Using the Wii Remote or the DS stylus, players will have to master realistic styling movements when applying make-up, preening hairstyles or filing nails and can even apply photos to items of clothing with the DSi Camera.
Fans will earn Fashionista points through their styling and wardrobe choices. Making the right fashion statements – and not reaching for a dress made out of meat – will earn them the highest score.
The reward for creating the next new fashion trend will be waiting for players in Milan as they get the chance to style the doll herself at her own fashion show where none other than Ken, the heartthrob of the plastic world, will be watching.
With its exotic locations and wide range of styling activities, Barbie: Jet, Set and Style looks set to be the latest must-have fashion accessory for Barbie’s younger fanbase and a promising title for the girls’ market this Christmas.
