With his own books, BAFTA-nominated CITV series and even a film, Horrid Henry has fast become one of children’s favourite fictional TV characters in the UK.
Now he can add a 3DS game to his list of work. Publisher Europress is hoping Horrid Henry: The Good, The Bad & The Bugly on 3DS will net it more than just a fistful of dollars over the Christmas period.
The game is a side-scrolling 3D adventure that blends action with puzzles and platforming. Gamers traverse across three worlds as the resident mischief maker while defeating several evil bosses to rescue Bunny – his brother Perfect Peter’s toy rabbit.
Developed by Asylum Entertainment, the release follows previous DS titles Missions of Mischief and Horrid Adventure, which arrived in 2009 and 2010 respectively. An officially licensed Horrid Henry 3DS Accessory Pack will also accompany the release of the game. This includes a carry case and big stylus pen, and is compatible with the 3DS, as well as the DS Lite, DSi and standard DS. The pack will be released under distributor Koch’s accessories label Blue Ocean.
Koch’s UK marketing manager Pete Ballard tells MCV: "The franchise is a proven success across multimedia formats and we have great expectations for Horrid Henry’s 3DS debut. It’s the perfect gift for parents to keep their own little horrors occupied before and during the Christmas holidays."
