Just Dance 3 smashes sales of predecessor

Any fears that the dancing game craze had passed have been well and truly dispelled following the release of some impressive statistics from publisher Ubisoft.

Worldwide sales of Just Dance 3, which was released in October for Wii and Xbox 360, are tracking 85 per cent ahead of its predecessor Just Dance 2, which was a Wii-only title.

In addition, the Just Dance series has topped the Wii charts for 12 of the last 13 months.

Lifetime sales of the Just Dance series stand at over 17m worldwide.

Just Dance is a blockbuster brand for Ubisoft,” Ubisoft’s UK MD Rob Cooper stated. The game’s mainstream appeal has helped broaden the appeal of video games to the mass market.

Ubisoft anticipates that the strong sales trend for Just Dance 3 will continue to grow as we head into the holiday season. The social aspect of the game makes it the perfect game to play during the holidays with friends and family.”

A PS3 version of Just Dance 3 will be released on December 9th.
