Loney Tunes: Acme Arsenal / Duck Amuck

LOONEY TUNES: ACME Arsenal

Have you ever met any mad scientists? Or even heard of any? The only one MCV ever became aware of used to teach us biology with his hands down his pants.

So it’s pretty bizarre that these nutcase academics always seem to end up as the pariah in any zany cartoon. That said, fictional worlds would be a hell of a lot more boring without them – and ACME Arsenal is no exception.

ACME Arsenal’s particular mental boffin is fed up with the Looney Tunes and plans to get rid of them once and for all. With a homemade time machine and giant ACME eraser, he wants to erase the Toons and their ancestors from history.

It’s up to gamers to stop his evil plan, using some of the most recognisable characters in Looney Toons’ existence.

Warner Bros marketing manager for EMEA Maria Deevoy explains: “Players get to wield a major arsenal of ACME weapons as the tunes team-up to hunt down the mad scientist.

“Looney Tunes ACME Arsenal is a mix of Looney Tunes slapstick humour, with an updated, next-generation, modern edge. In ACME Arsenal the player gets to experience a whack and smash romp through fantastic locations such as Camelot, Ancient Egypt and Mars with their favourite Looney Tunes characters.”

And the whole gamut of Looney Tunes favourites are in there, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, The Tasmanian Devil and everyone’s favourite furry fool, Wile E. Coyote.

LOONEY TUNES: Duck Amuck

In the world of spitting and stressing, Daffy Duck made Roy Keane look like an amateur.

The angry, anthropomorphic Daffy is much-loved by kids for his general inability to achieve anything without uproarious stress. And in Duck Amuck, it’s up to you to get him as agitated as possible.

Players use the Nintendo DS stylus to compete against Daffy Duck in various mini-games with the goal of making him angry by manipulating his environments to his inconvenience.

The game features wireless game play, which allows players to not only gang up on Daffy as a team but also battle each other in head to head competition.

Warner Bros marketing manager for EMEA Maria Deevoy explains: “Duck Amuck takes its name and inspiration from the classic cartoon from 1951. In this cartoon, Daffy is tormented by an unseen animator who constantly changes Daffy’s location, clothing, voice and appearance much to the annoyance of Daffy.

“Looney Tunes Duck Amuck takes this cartoon and gives it a completely original gaming experience – one which is custom made for the DS.  Looney Tunes Duck Amuck plays like an interactive cartoon, pitting the player against Daffy in which they must master original and interactive mini-games making sure to make him mad in the process. It really is 'despicably' good fun.”
