Mystery Case Files: Escape from Ravenhearst

Hidden object titles are a hot property in the games industry. The puzzlers – where users must find as many hard-to-spot items usually within a time limit – have seen a boom on PC and portable consoles in recent years.

PC specialist Focus Multimedia is no stranger to the titles. And in fact, new release Escape from Ravenhearst is the eighth instalment in the popular Mystery Case Files series, which Focus publishes on PC.

With a budget price of £10.20, all-new puzzles and an integrated strategy guide, Escape from Ravenhearst is set to be another enticing product for casual players. It’s again set in the manor of Ravenhearst, where players must avoid being caught by a vengeful killer known as Charles.

The game includes hundreds of in-game objects, puzzles and mysteries to solve, as well as a bonus ‘Collect and Match’ quest where users must use a detective’s case book to progress.

The original Ravenhearst title was released by Focus in February 2009 to general acclaim, and is available to stock via the publisher’s Black Lime Games label.

Focus Multimedia’s PR?and marketing manager Alan Wild says: “Mystery Case Files is widely credited with popularising the hidden object adventure genre. The eighth instalment in the series is arguably the most enthralling hidden object adventure game ever created. It is a phenomenal new addition to Mystery Case Files.”
