Phineas and Ferb was the Disney Channel’s highest-rated show last summer, when it was watched by 9.2m viewers.
That’s no mean feat, especially considering the channel is home to a number of hit shows including Hannah Montana, Club Penguin and Sonny with a Chance.
2nd Dimension is the latest action video game based on the animated series, and follows the release of Ride Again on DS earlier this year.
This time, mastermind brothers Phineas and Ferb enter a new dimension where everything is different to home and they must thwart the evil Dr Doofenshmirtz’ plans. It’s based on the full-length movie that recently debuted on the Disney Channel.
The comedic nature and cartoon-like style appeals strongly to children and fans of the show. And with the game out on DS as well as Wii and PS3, there’s the slightly cheaper portable alternative available to parents who may be looking for an early Christmas DS present for their kids.
There are over 25 levels for players to navigate. They can upgrade gadgets including the Carbonator, which fires orange soda, and ninja gloves that let users climb walls. The PS3 game even uses the Move motion controller. Several actors from the popular TV series also provide their voices for the game.
Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension is all set to become a hit with kids in the run up to Christmas.
