From Plants vs Zombies to Bejeweled, PopCap has built a reputation for developing some of the world’s best casual games.
These titles – which have already been downloaded tens of millions of times worldwide – have previously found a home on the PC, console download and iPhone market. Now Mastertronic is bringing two boxed collections to Xbox 360.
PopCap Hits – out now – includes Bejeweled 2, Peggle, Feeding Frenzy and Astro Pop, while PopCap Hits Vol 2 consists of Plants vs Zombies, Zuma, Feeding Frenzy 2 and Heavy Weapons. The latter is released on March 4th.
All of these games have their own unique style and ooze light and addictive gameplay.
“For the retailer, this is a unique opportunity to benefit from PopCap gaming classics for the Xbox 360 and to reach the many consumers who do not visit the digital marketplace,” says Mastertronic’s business development director Garry Williams.
“Our collection of PopCap Hits will reach an appreciative and receptive audience, who have discovered the joy in these pick up and play gaming classics.”
Mastertronic is running a high profile ad campaign for both PopCap Hits and PopCap Hits Vol 2, kicking off with a national TV ad campaign on ITV1 around Daybreak, This Morning, Loose Women and 60 Minute Makeover. The campaign will run for a week on terrestrial TV.
This will be followed up by an extensive online and print campaign across mainstream consumer media, national press and women’s weeklies such as Take A Break, Bella, Best, New, Prima, That’s Life, TV Quick, Chat, Inside Soap, Real People and Woman.
