Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be at Evo 2017 as over $150,000 is raised for charity

After a close charity fundraising campaign to decide the final game to be played at Evo 2017 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has come out on top.

The fighter, which is set to be replaced by the end of the year, raised $71,690 for Make-a-Wish International during the drive, where the game with the most money donated to charity would get a spot on the main stage of Evo.

Its biggest competition came from Pokkén Tournament, which managed to raise $66,906 and looked like it may end up winning until the final few hours.

To help MvsC 3 get over the finish line Echo Fox Street Fighter player Justin Wong threw in $2,000 on the last day.

In total more that $150,000 was raised during the drive, and while it is always good to see a community supporting their favorite games the real winner here is Make-a-Wish International.
