WWE is in for a revival as it returns to relive the popular ‘Attitude era’.
What the wrestling game is promising to provide is the most authentic, seamless and passionate experience wrestling fans can play as well as taking the attitude to the next level.
WWE 13 is transforming its sense of realism with WWE Live, a new audio and presentation system that’s designed to produce the authentic commentary, sound effects and crowd participation levels that players can hear during rounds.
Another first for the franchise is a single-player campaign based on a groundbreaking period in WWE history called the ‘Attitude era’. Players will focus on eight fighters from ‘Monday Night Wars’, which includes infamous fighter and WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin.
WWE 13 also introduces completely new animations, transitions and controls, which will deliver fluid and engaging gameplay to fans.

WWE 13 has a huge campaign in place. A five month partnership with WWE Magazine, which will include over 30 pages of dedicated editorial content, a bespoke iPad magazine as well as a front cover on the November issue.
A three month sponsorship of all WWE programming in the UK will follow on Sky channels Sky 1 and Sky Sports 1 to 4.
There is also nine months of advertising and editorial hitting the official site WWE.com. There’s also a two month campaign with IGN.com and four month’s worth of coverage on YouTube and Google, focusing on the WWE brand and WWE video game search terms.
Eager gamers wanting to play it early can take part in on of 500 WWE 13 parties (see Party Time box out).
Alongside a special edition of the game, featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin, plus the ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson pre-order incentive, wrestling fans will be eager to pick WWE 13 up.
The collector’s edition will feature exclusive foil packaging embossed with a Stone Cold Steve Austin skull, a signed art card, additional outfits and ring entrance, a DVD and access to Mike Tyson as a playable character.
The game has a huge 80-plus character roster including superstars, divas and fighters from the ‘Attitude era’. Alongside cover star CM Punk, notable wresters include The Rock, Lita, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Undertaker.
THQ?have teamed up with Kerrang!?Radio, IGN and party organiser Come Round to offer 500 fans a WWE?13 party experience. Copies of the game will be sent out early and players are encouraged to use social media. friends.
WWE 13’s creation suite also returns allowing fans to create superstars, arenas, finishing moves, storylines and more. Players can also upload creations and share and view them via the WWE 13 online community.
