Sony has confirmed online multiplayer functionality for upcoming PS3 release God of War Ascension.
The new functionality will allow up to eight players to engage in a number of modes set amidst the series’ trademark large-scale battles. There will be plenty of customisation options, too.
Player abilities will depend on which deity they choose to align themselves with – Zeus, Poseidon, Hades or Ares.
The single player game has received equal focus, too.
The narrative is set before the happenings of the original trilogy and six months after Kratos was tricked into killing his family. Our ‘hero’ is left teetering on the edge of madness and tasked with escaping prison.
The bar is set quite high for this franchise as each God of War title succeeds in being better than the last, but, unlike previous releases, we’re providing a deeper look into Kratos’ tormented past and psyche that fans have not seen before,” God of War Ascension’s director Todd Pappy stated.
