$1.4 million CS:GO competition ELEAGUE starts tonight, prize distribution revealed

The $1.4 million Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition ELEAGUE starts later tonight, and the prize pool distribution has finally been announced.

At the end of the 10 week season the winning team will walk away with a massive $390,000. Second place will grab $140,000 with third and fourth grabbing a still respectable $60,000. Fifth to eighth place will grab $50,000 with 9th-14th receiving $40,000 and 15th-24th taking $30,000. Whoever wins the last chance qualifier will also take home $10,000.

The first week of ELEAGUE starts tonight, with group A competing for a spot in the final week. Luminosity Gaming, Team Liquid, Cloud 9 and Renegades make up the first group, with many expecting Luminosity to easily make their way through to the next stage.

The action will be streamed on Twitch, thanks to the new multi year deal between the two organisations, while the final of each week will also be on US TV network TBS. Tonight’s action is due to start around 5pm UK Time over on the ELEAGUE Twitch channel.

We are all incredibly excited for the launch of ELEAGUE and the opportunity to showcase this live event experience from our new state-of-the-art facility,” said Lenny Daniels, President of Turner Sports. We’re fully committed to providing a best-in-class production experience that will extend across all platforms and we will continue to serve the passionate eSports community with high quality, engaging content that always has the live gaming competition at its core.”
