35th Golden Joystick Awards returns on November 17th 2017

This year’s Golden Joystick Awards will take place on November 17th at an all-new venue, event organiser Future Publishing has announced, with comedian Danny Wallace making a return to hosting duties.

Situated this year at London’s Bloomsbury Big Top, over 25 award categories will be up for grabs this year, as voted for by the global gaming public, including Best Multiplayer Game, Game of the Year, and Most Wanted Game. New awards will also be introduced this year, although final category names are still to be confirmed.

The award categories and shortlist will be announced on September 21st, with public voting opening on the same day, and voting will close on November 3rd. On the night of the awards, viewers will be able to tune-in on Twitch, where the whole event will be livestreamed.

Tickets and sponsorship of the event is now open to trade customers, so please get in touch with andrew.church@futurenet.com for more information.

"I’m delighted to return to host the legendary Golden Joysticks, and to find out what the gamers themselves think are deserving of the industry’s most undeniably golden awards," host Danny Wallace said of the awards.

Dan Dawkins, global editor in chief at Future Publishing’s GamesRadar+ added: "For 35 years the Golden Joystick Awards have been celebrating the very best of video games. Whether they’re highlighting the brilliance of the games themselves, the creatives who make them, or the communities and personalities who play them, the Golden Joysticks have always been a wonderful reminder of the passion and excellence inherent in our industry.

"Being the largest publicly voted gaming awards in the world, the Golden Joysticks enable the ever-increasing and diversifying communities of players to connect with and celebrate the games they truly love… and that’s why they’re stronger than ever after 35 years.”
