5th Cell hits Fig with free-to-play RPG Anchors in the Drift

Scribblenauts studio 5thCell has taken its upcoming action RPG Anchors in the Drift to Fig in hopes of crowdfunding the title.

The campaignfor the free-to-play game is set at $500,000. As of this writing, the developer has raised just over $106,000 from just 111 backers, with still more than three weeks remaining in the 30-day run.

"We’re very excited to be partnering with Fig, and love that they’ve created a platform for crowdfunding as well as investment," 5th Cell CEO Jeremiah Slaczka said.

Fig arrived on the crowdfunding scene back in August, and unlike Kickstarter, the platform allows accredited investors to engage in equity crowdfunding. No doubt a few have invested in Anchors in the Drift, with the average contribution coming in higher than what one might expect from a crowdfunding project at around $1,000 per backer.
