105 companies including Mind Candy, Bossa Studios, Mediatonic and We R Interactive set to attend

‘800 tech jobs available’ at London start-up event

London tech start-up fair the Silicon Milkroundabout returns to London next month to promote more than 800 jobs, event organisers claim.

Jobs available are set to include graduate places through to senior level developer positions at 105 companies such as Mind Candy, Bossa Studios, Mediatonic and We R Interactive.

The event has been designed to help promote the benefits of joining start-ups compared to established firms such as Google and Microsoft, with 3,000 job hunters expected to attend.

Last year’s job fair attracted just under 1,500 attendees, whilst this year event organisers have added an extra day.

Previously focusing on software engineering, May’s event will also see a focus on professions such as product management, design and analytics.

“There’s this idea that on our own we can only do so much to get in front of the very best people and pitch our start-up ideas, and this is a bit of a shortcut really,” Songkick co-founder Pete Smith told Develop.

“We can all individually build out our recruitment teams and go hard trying to find great people, but this is more of a kind of collective, collaborative effort to shortcut that process a bit and say look, we’re all in one room for an afternoon.

“If you’re interested or curious about joining a start-up, come down and you’ll get a chance to meet all the teams, talk to them about their products, their industries and their technologies and maybe that will open up your eyes a bit to what’s available.”

The Silicon Milkroundabout will take place between May 26th and 27th at the Old Truman Brewery warehouse in London.
