Just Cause 2 demo tops 2m downloads

Square Enix has announced that the demo for Just Cause 2 has been downloaded more than two million times.

The demo was released on PC, XBLA and PSN earlier this month and gives players a 35 square mile taste of the upcoming open-world action game, due for release next Friday.

Using the game’s built-in stat tracking mechanic, the publisher also announced gamers have driven a distance equivalent to a trip from the Earth to the Moon and back four times. Collectively, they have base jumped the equivalent of a freefall through the Earth’s core, pole-to-pole, twice.

Consumers have killed almost 30 million members of the fictional Panau Island’s population. This stat includes around 2.5 million headshots, 27,000 Piata kills, almost a million drivers thrown from their own vehicles.
