Wipeout claims its first ever UK No.1

Sony’s decision to remaster some of its classic Wipeout games has been rewarded with a UK All Formats No.1.

The series first debuted in the UK way back in 1995 but, in Wipeout: Omega Collection, this is the first time Wipeout has ever topped the UK charts.

Codemasters’ Dirt 4, meanwhile, debuts at No.3. The original Dirt spin-off for the Colin McRae series managed to hit No.4 on its first week, while both Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 landed at No.2 on their debuts.

Last week’s No.1, Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7, drops one place to No.2, while moving the other way is Horizon Zero Dawn, which continues its chart resurgence by climbing four places to No.4.

There’s another new entry in the Top 10, too – Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, at No.9. Two other Bethesda title re-enter on the back of discounting, too, with Doom sitting in 17th and Fallout 4 in 18th.

Here’s the UK Top 10 for the week ending June 10th:

1. Wipeout: Omega Collection (Sony)
2. Tekken 7 (Bandai Namco)
3. Dirt 4 (Codemasters)
4. Horizon Zero Dawn (Sony)
5. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
6. Overwatch (Blizzard)
7. FIFA 17 (EA)
8. Injustice 2 (Warner Bros)
9. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind (Bethesda)
10. Dishonored 2 (Bethesda)
