Machine Zone has hired another celebrity – Arnold Schwarzenegger

The Terminator and former Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has become the latest celebrity to be recruited by Game of War dev Machine Zone.

VentureBeat reports that he is to be the face of a new title called Mobile Strike, which is being published by a new Machine Zone division called Epic War and is now available.

We are very excited about the launch of Mobile Strike and are thrilled to have an icon like Arnold Schwarzenegger as our partner and personification of the game,” the company’s co-founder and CEO Gabe Leydon said.

We decided to adopt the tried-and true-studio model that many developers employ and are also excited to announce Epic War, our new studio whose staff is devoted to developing and managing this new game.

The new studio will allow us to maintain the existing, dedicated resources to Game of War and in fact, we intend to grow the GOW-focused engineering and customer service teams. We are constantly striving to improve the game experience for our passionate and loyal players.”

Machine Zone recently recruited Mariah Carey as the face of its continued Game of War push. The title, which became best known not only for its Super Bowl ad but also for the ubiquity of its advertising – which was previously fronted by Kate Upton – at one stage was boasting multi-million dollar daily revenues. It remains the top-grossing smartphone title.
