King of Fighters XIV announced for PS4 release in 2016

SNK Playmore has revealed a new entry in The King of Fighters franchise is in development for PS4.

Announced at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, The King of Fighters XIV will boast 3D visuals for the first time in the fighting series – though the developer indicates the game will stay true to KoF’s 2D gameplay roots.

The title is currently exclusive to PS4, but it’s worth noting past entries in the series have seen multiplatform release.

King of Fighters XIV is expected to launch in 2016. Here’s the announcement trailer:
