Skylanders to debut on iPhone and iPod Touch

Activision will this year offer the full-console Skylanders experience to iPhone and iPod Touch owners.

The company has revealed that the Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack for smartphones will this year support Apple’s smaller portables as well as iPad. Last year’s Trap Team was limited only to Apple’s larger device.

The full experience will be limited to iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPod touch 6 owners. Those with an iPhone 5/5C, iPad 3 and iPad 4 can still play, but are limited to the single-player Adventure Mode, local co-op and head-to-head split-screen racing.

The Starter Pack itself includes a Bluetooth portal for the figures, a Bluetooth console-style controller and a stand. The bundle also includes some extra in-game content.

The iOS version uses cloud saving support so users can continue from where they left off on another device logged into the same Game Centre account.
