PwC to update Irish GAME protestors today

Former GAME workers staging sit-in protests at Irish branches are to be updated by administrators PwC today.

MCV yesterday published a number of pictures posted by the protestors, who are unhappy with PwC’s demand that they pursue the Government for redundancy pay after being told they would receive nothing from GAME beyond their March paycheque.

Sit-in protests have since spread to many of the closed Irish GAME stores. In total 121 Irish workers were told earlier this week that they’d lost their jobs.

Now RTE News reports that deputy Store Manager Barry Lynch has said they are not prepared to let anyone remove the stock or strip the store until they have been fairly treated”.

PwC reportedly now intends to update Irish workers today, pointing to a possible change in policy.

The move follows initial talks between a representative of the staff and management form both GAME and PwC.
