UK firm CyberSports has raised £4.3m in investor funding for its online sports title Football Superstars.
The company has said that the funds will be used to expand the Football Superstars brand, as well as beginning more social media and mobile platforms initiatives.
“The funds were raised mainly from existing investors and this demonstrates their ongoing confidence in what we’re doing,” said CyberSports CEO Malcolm Clark.
“They recognise that we have an original and unique product which is proving to have enormous global appeal.”
The firm’s CMO Andy Law attributed the funding to the success of recent work on Football Superstars.
“I am delighted to acknowledge the accomplishments of our technical and marketing teams at CyberSports. Our recent innovations have helped Football Superstars to build a massive and loyal global fan base,” he stated.
“The online world is changing rather rapidly and increasingly gamers are expecting more and more from their online gaming experience. Football Superstars provides a richer experience whilst still allowing players to get a quick-fix match of virtual football”.
