Guillermo del Toro, the decorated director of Pan’s Labyrinth, has revealed he is working on a number of game projects with a “big company”.
"One of the things we’re announcing in the next few weeks is a big deal with a big company,” del Toro told MTV News.
“We’re going to do games that are going to be technically and narratively very interesting.”
In a more ambiguous manner, he added: “It’s not a development deal. We’re going to do it. We’re doing them. And we’re going to announce it soon enough."
del Toro has made numerous suggestions regarding his desire to direct a videogame. He is a frequent evangelist of the interactive medium, having recently said “in the next 10 years, there will be an earthshaking Citizen Kane of games.”
In 1998 del Toro founded The Tequila Gang – a production company that became the platform which del Toro built his famous and often revered projects from, including The Devil’s Backbone, Pan’s Labyrinth, the upcoming Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.
