Academy Award winner and professor in New York University’s department of computer science, Ken Perlin, has been announced as the third keynote speaker for this years Develop:Brighton conference.
His talk, titled ‘A Visit to Future Reality’, is going to explore how future mixed reality technologies will allow people to better communicate with with each other in the same physical space. This talk follows the announcement that Brenda and John Romero will be opening the conferece with their two keynotes, as well as being presented with the Development Legends award for the Develop Awards.
“We’re delighted to announce Ken Perlin as another superb keynote speaker for Develop:Brighton 2017,” said Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events. “His creation of Perlin Noise in 1985 revolutionised computer graphics and development, so who better to talk to us about the future of the space? We’re looking forward to a rare and exciting glimpse into what lies ahead!”
Perlin is not only a professor at NYU but is also a faculty member of NYU MAGNET. He won an Academy Award for technical achievement with Perlin Noise in 1997. In addition to Perlin’s talk, new talks have also been announced including Working with Streamers with Marcella de Bie (Nysira) and Tim Mines (Spamfish), and a look at free strategies to promote your game with PR consultant Alex Moyet.
The conference takes place in Brighton between Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th July at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton. You can find more information on the events here.
