Activision Blizzard Q2: $1.05bn net revenue, $4.6bn in cash and assets

Activision Blizzard has announced financial results for the second quarter of its current fiscal year, reporting net revenue of over $1bn for the period.

The $1.05bn earned by Activision during the three month period was just under the $1.08bn brought in by the firm during the same portion of 2012. The company is currently debt-free and carries $4.6bn in cash and assets.

The publisher credits Call of Duty: Black Ops II and, more specifically, Skylanders: Giants for driving quarterly revenue. The game was the top selling console title during the first half of 2013 in both US and Europe, and has surpassed $1.5bn in retail sales since its launch.

Activison also stated in its related financial call to investors that it raised $466m in cashflow so far this year.

With the results in hand, the company has raised its outlook for the year to $4.31bn –versus the $4.22bn projected last quarter.

It should also be noted that the outlook doesn’t take Activision’s recent purchase of itself from Vivendi into consideration.
