Activision boss Kotick is one of the highest paid CEOs in the US

Activision Blizzard CEO Robert Kotick has had his compensation increased eight fold to $64.9m last year, according to Bloomberg.

The man in charge of the publisher received a new employment agreement in March 2012, which awarded the CEO stock in the value of $55.9m over his five-year contract. Kotick won’t receive all that money right way, although it is on Activision’s books now.

Activision is the profitable video games company in the world. And its three flagship brands, World of Warcraft, Call of Duty and Skylanders, are three of the biggest video games on the market.

Kotick isn’t just being paid in stock, of course. His total salary comes to $8.33m.

Kotick is the second highest paid CEO in the US, behind Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
