Adam Johnson cut from Football Manager and PES, EA working to do the same

Disgraced Sunderland footballer Adam Johnson is being expunged from the world of games.

28-year old Johnson faces a prison sentence after being found guilty of sexual activity with an underage girl. Due to the nature of his crime football game publishers are currently working to remove him from their titles.

The former England winger has already been removed from Football Manager 2016, Eurogamer reports. Konami has also said that its March squad update will remove him from PEs 2016.

It’s a different story from EA, which told the site that it was having difficulty deleting Johnson from FIFA 16.

?"We released a team update last month to remove Adam Johnson,” it said. However due to technical issues it is not possible to delete him from everyone’s version.”

A separate report from the BBC, however, suggests that EA continues to work on the issue, with a spokesperson saying: "Adam Johnson has been removed from the Active Rosters of both Sunderland and England in FIFA 16. We’re working to remove him from other modes within the game as soon as possible."
