Alien: Isolation pre-orders get original Alien DLC

Customers who pre-order Sega’s upcoming Alien: Isolation are being handed a fan-friendly bit of free DLC.

The content is based on Ridley Scott’s original 1979 film Alien, featuring the likeness and voice talent of key talent such as Sigourney Weaver (Ellen Ripley), Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett), Yaphet Kotto (Parker) and Ian Holm (Ash, likeness and sound-alike).

It will be spread across two downloadable missions recreating key scenes from the film. Those who have already have or go on to pre-order the game will automatically be entitled to receive the Nostromo Edition.

The first, called ‘Crew Expendable’, allows players to choose between key crew members and takes place moments after Brett’s death, with the aim being to lure the alien into the ship’s airlock.

The second, ‘Last Survivor’, sees Ripley trying to escape the Narcissus by making her way down through the Nostromo to activate the self-destruct. Note this second piece of DLC will only be available via a "select retailer" in the UK.

Working with the original cast has been an incredible experience,” the game’s creative lead Alistair Hope, said.

It was important to us to have the key original cast members reprise their roles in order to perfectly capture the atmosphere of the movie. For some of the original cast, this is their first appearance in an Alien video game. Seeing them reprise those roles after 35 years was an unforgettable experience.”
