Amazon ditches its trade-in program

By the end of the month customers will no longer be able to trade-in their old video games at Amazon.

Until now a whole host of products – including but not limited to video games – could be traded in on the site. However, the entire process is being scrapped. Instead, users wanting to offload their old goods will instead have to sign up as seller, with Amazon not as directly involved.

We are closing our trade-in programme on August 31st 2015 .We will no longer be accepting trade-in submissions after this date,”

You can submit trade-in items as normal up to and including August 31st 2015. No trade-in orders can be submitted online after the closure date. Please ensure your trade-in items are dispatched within seven days after your submission. Trade-ins sent after this time will not be accepted by us and will be returned to your address.

Note: All trade-in orders submitted online before August 31st 2015 will be processed as normal if dispatched to us within seven days after submission.”

Please note trade-in submissions sent via Royal Mail may take up to six business days to arrive before your submission is processed. All issued Amazon.co.uk gift cards will remain valid after the closure of our trade-in programme. As before, this will be subject to our gift card terms and conditions.”
