Apple becomes world’s most valuable company

Think about this for a moment. The world revolves around oil. We all need energy. And the bankers? Rolling in it. But as of today who’s the world’s biggest company? Apple.

Yes. Our appetite for aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly and arguably over-priced consumer electronics has grown to such a degree that Apple is now the biggest company in the world.

The US company is now worth $341.5bn. That’s up 41 per cent over the last 12 months.

In capturing the top spot it overtakes oil giant Exxon Mobil. Analysts continue to be amazed with Apple’s ability to defy the market downturns that are dogging nearly every sector.
