Assassin’s Creed film scheduled for December 2016 premiere

Production for the Assassin’s Creed movie adaptation is underway, Ubisoft has revealed.

CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned the film’s status during a company earnings call that followed the posting of Ubisoft’s quarterly financial results.

"We have the pleasure to announce today that the green light has been given by New Regency, and the production has already started," Guillemot said.

"This is a very important milestone for the project and for our team on Assassin’s Creed."

Guillemot further confirmed previous reports that the adaptation had been delayed from 2015 to next year, pinning a December 21st, 2016 premiere date to the film.
