Assassin’s Creed Origins is getting a comic series and novel

Ubisoft has revealed an extensive number of publishing ventures that will arrive alongside its upcoming Assassin’s Creed Origins later this year.

The game will be accompanied by a novel, a comic miniseries, and official guide and an art book.

The book, written by Oliver Bowden, is called Assassin’s Creed Origins Desert Oath and is being co-published by Ubisoft and Penguin Books. The development team have also helped out throughout its development.

It portrays a young Bayek following his father’s footsteps, leaving the peace of his hometown, Siwa, in search of answers,” the blurb says. Follow Bayek through a journey that will take him along the Nile and across a country in turmoil as he faces the dangers and mysteries of the Medjay’s path.”

The comic series is published by Titan Comics and written by Anne Toole. Titan is also publishing the art book, the description of which reads: Readers will explore the world of Assassin’s Creed Origins as they discover its secrets and forgotten myths, and learn more about the characters, enemies, weapons and majestic landscapes of the game, through a vast collection of art, including: concept sketches, city plans, character studies, and fully rendered paintings along with comments and notes from the artists and developers.”

Prime will be publishing the official guide.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be released worldwide on October 27th.

This new installment in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series takes place in Egypt and will see the franchise go right back to the very start of the Brotherhood’s history. Starring Bayek, the last Magi, the game adds several new RPG elements to the mix, such as equippable enemy weapons and Far Cry Primal’s owl scanner (this time in the form of an eagle).

Since the game demoed during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, the platform holder was keen to emphasise the game’s 4K resolution and HDR support for theXbox One X, with a two minute gameplay trailer captured in native 4K being one of its highlights.
