Audiokinetic offers free Wwise licence for indies

Audiokinetic has made its audio toolset Wwise free to use for indie game developers.

The new limited commercial licence is available at no cost to use for games with fewer than 200 sound files in their Wwise project.

The offer is also only open for titles on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8.

“We know that there are thousands of small teams working hard out there on small game titles. Some are essentially unfunded, some fund through their savings, or through investors and some fund through crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter," said Audiokinetic CEO Martin Klein.

"We want them all to have the opportunity to use the best tools available to them, and for audio, that means Wwise."

Existing Wwise users and indies targeting consoles were urged to contact Audiokinetic for more information.
