Audiomotion MD Mick Morris has left the company after 17 years.
He has departed the Oxfordshire-based motion capture outfit to pursue a “new and fresh challenge”, though has not clarified what this might be. Operations director Brian Mitchell will now take the reins at the studio.
Morris joined Audiomotion in 1998, and became MD in 2003 after the company left the GBH/Kaboom group. The mo-cap studio has worked on projects in both game and film, including Alien: Isolation, Forza, FIFA and Far Cry 3. Earlier this year, the company won the best Services provider accolade at the Develop Awards.
“When we had to reboot in 2003 after leaving the GBH/Kaboom group, Brian Mitchell, James Witt and I basically started again from scratch,” said Morris.
“Since then, with the support of an amazing team, we grew the company to be the largest mocap studio outside of North America with a portfolio of world-class games and Hollywood movies that very few can ever hope to match.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved since then and I wish the guys the very best of luck in the future. This has been a huge decision for me since the Studio has been such an integral part of my life for such a long time. But I’m now looking forward to the next chapter in my career knowing I’m leaving Audiomotion Studios in very safe hands. I look forward to being able to help this remarkable team in any way I can in the future.”
