BioShock Infinite: Ultimate Songbird Edition announced

We still don’t have a release date for Bioshock Infinite, not even a hint of it, but developer Irrational Games today announced the game’s Ultimate Songbird Edition.

The highlight of this edition, which according to Irrational’s Ken Levine will be in limited supply, is a 9.5-inch Songbird statue that was conceived by renowned concept artist Robb Waters.

The statue will come in a period-style box” of its own, and the Ultimate Songbird Edition will also include:

  • 3-inch baby version keychain of the Murder of Crows vigor bottle replica
  • 5×7-inch lithograph by Jorge Lacera
  • 25 mm resin-cast Handyman miniature from the BioShock Infinite board game
  • Mini BioShock Infinite art book with a hand-distressed cover
  • Digital goodies: exclusive in-game gear, a digital soundtrack and downloadable themes

There’s also a Premium Edition, which will include all of the above, except for the Songbird statue.

In the US, the Ultimate Songbird Edition will be priced at $149.99 (approx Rs 8,000), while the Premium Edition will retail for $79.99 (approx Rs 4,500).

Now, the bad news. For some reason, collector’s editions of 2K’s games don’t seem to make their way to India, as proven by the absence of the awesome Borderlands 2 Loot Chest Edition. We’ve heard several reasons for this, one being the region restrictions in the DLC included.

Either way, it’s unlikely that either the Ultimate Songbird Edition or the Premium Edition will be headed to India, so if you want them bad enough, you’re going to have to import.
