Fresh off the back of raising $10m in Series A funding, London-based Bossa Studios has announced it’s expanding the studio to Seattle, where former Valve employee Chet Faliszek will be heading up a new project.
"Excited I’m joining Bossa Studios to direct an unannounced PC action co-op game trying to do something new in the narrative space using AI," Faliszek wrote on Twitter last night.
Before development begins on the game, Bossa is looking to expand its respective UK and Seattle-based teams across all disciplines.
Indeed, when Bossa announced its new round of funding earlier this month, which was led by Atomico and existing investors London Venture Partners, the studio mentioned it would be using the funds to both grow the studio’s head count and branch out into AI and user-generated content.
"Together we’re able to accelerate Bossa’s strategy of creating a new breed of multiplayer games based on crowdsourced content, AI-directed procedural generation, and an open development ethos bringing the community into the fabric of everything we do," Henrique Olifiers, co-founder and CEO of Bossa Studios said at the time.
"There has never been a more exciting time to create games thanks to emerging technologies and platforms, and Bossa intends to be at the very heart of the action, creating popular titles that will capture players’ imaginations for years to come”.
Bossa Studios is currently working on Worlds Adrift, which is powered by Improbable’s SpatialOS techand is gearing up for a full public launch. It’s currently unclear whether its new Seattle studio will also be powered by Improbable’s SpatialOS platform – all we know right now, according to Bossa, is that it’s going to revolve around an AI-driven narrative – but we’ll update this article as soon as more information becomes available.
