Brand new Tom Clancy IP announced

Seemingly just moments after

snapping up the rights

to all things Tom Clancy, Ubisoft has announced a new title branded with the anti-terror author’s moniker – HAWX.

Standing for High Altitude Warfare X, the Ubisoft Bucharest developed title will, as the name suggest, bring the flight sim genre to the Clancy stable.

The game will feature 50 planes, boast lots of above-the-ground technology and allow players to command an entire squadron of fighters.

Due out this autumn, HAWX will be released on 360, PS3 and PC.

Around this time last year Ubisoft announced Tom Clancy’s EndWar, a voice-controlled RTS that, according to the numerous previews, looks set to be somewhat of a classic.

Both titles join Ubisoft’s existing range of successful Tom Clancy titles – Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon.
