Buildbox 2.1.0 adds Windows UWP support

Version 2.1.0 of game creation tool Buildbox has now launched and is geared towards development for Microsoft’s latest OS.

The new point-release adds support for the Universal Windows Platform, enabling users to export their titles to the Windows 10 store for PC, with options for Windows mobile and Xbox One expected soon.

“We’re very excited about adding official support for the Windows 10 store,” said founder Trey Smith. “Microsoft is doing some great things with the platform and we’re especially excited about their desktop store. Right now their install base in rivalling iPhone with more than 300m computers using Windows 10 that have access to the store.”

Further to this, Buildbox has teamed up with Microsoft and in-app video ad specialist Vungle for a promotion that will see devs who bring their games to the Windows 10 store receive $500.
